On 27 February 2010 a huge event that changed the way of thinking about natural disasters here in Chile.

            The Earthquake started at 3 am. and a black out came after the earthquake or during the earthquake in some places. The earthquake showed how badly organized our country is. And the slow response from our authorities which end up with many casualties because they didn't alert in time the population and many people were killed because of it.   

       When I heard in the radio the news about the tsunami and the emotion that I could hear in their voices were melodramatic. I was completely astonished by just hearing the numbers of people killed by the tsunami. The response from the Chilean people was absolutely amazing helping in everything they could. The only event when I had seen the Chilean people unified like this is The Teleton. 

         In conclusion, the response from the authorities was pathetic but the fraternal actions from the people was amazing the way they helped each other made me proud of being Chilean.
